Kırok attended the 30th Anniversary Events of Rauf Raif Denktaş Turkish School.
Ceyhun Kırok, Mayor of Çatalköy-Esentepe Municipality, attended the events organized to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Rauf Raif Denktaş Turkish School in the UK. Mayor Kırok, who traveled to the UK upon special invitation, visited the school on May 2nd and met with the students. Engaging in warm conversations with the children, Kırok emphasized the great importance of maintaining ties between Northern Cyprus and Turkish Cypriots living abroad. He stated, “The role of such educational institutions is crucial in preserving and passing on the Turkish Cypriot identity to future generations.” Following the visit, Kırok attended the 30th anniversary gala held on the evening of May 3rd, where he met with community representatives throughout the night. Also present at the event were the Ambassador of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Aysan Mullahasan; the Consul of the TRNC, İsmail Şahinoğlu; the Education Attaché, Deniz Özalp; and the President of the Council of Turkish Cypriot Associations in the UK, Kenan Nafi. Also present at the event were former school principal Elmaz Dourmoush and her husband Ahmet Dourmoush, as well as the current school principal Meryem Biricik. At this meaningful event celebrating 30 years of history, President Kırok’s visit and the messages he conveyed attracted attention. The event reinforced the unity and solidarity of the Turkish Cypriot community and once again highlighted the importance of their ties to their homeland.
