A new artificial turf pitch, commissioned by the Çatalköy-Esentepe Municipality to strengthen the region’s sports infrastructure, has been inaugurated with a ceremony.
The opening ceremony in Esentepe was attended by Çatalköy-Esentepe Mayor Ceyhun Kırok, Evergreen Director and Co-founder Eser Sonat, Esentepe Sports Club President İbrahim Beyazbayram, Members of Parliament, representatives of the sports community, and local residents.
Following the opening ceremony, the new pitch was put into use, and a friendly match was played between the TRNC Republican Assembly and municipal staff.
Kırok: “Every form of support returns as an investment for our people”
In his speech at the ceremony, Çatalköy-Esentepe Mayor Ceyhun Kırok stated that the support and sponsorships provided to the region return to the public in the form of services and investments.
Noting that investments would continue to ensure children and young people can engage in sports under better conditions, Kırok said that the new 50×25-meter artificial turf pitch—following previous sports investments—would further strengthen the region’s sports infrastructure.
Emphasizing that Esentepe has become a significant hub for sports, Kırok thanked Evergreen Director and Co-founder Eser Sonat and Esentepe Sports Club President İbrahim Beyazbayram for their contributions to the project.
Kırok added that investments addressing the needs of the local community would continue in the coming period.
