As part of the Beşparmaklar Theatre Festival, organized in collaboration between Çatalköy-Esentepe Municipality and the Cyprus Turkish State Theatres, the play “Kozalar” (Cocoons), prepared and premiered by the Girne Theatre Su team, was staged last night. The play, which received great interest from the audience, explores the inner world of three women who prefer to live in their own small universes without questioning the system, order, and the world they live in. The story, told through the metaphor of a silkworm spinning its cocoon, received high praise from the audience for its thought-provoking and humorous scenes. Speaking at the end of the performance, Çatalköy-Esentepe Mayor Ceyhun Kırok praised the actors’ performance and expressed his gratitude. Emphasizing that theatre should be staged not only during festival periods but at all times, Kırok drew attention to the healing power of art. At the end of the evening, Mayor Kırok presented flowers and plaques to director Derman Atik and the actors. The Beşparmaklar Theatre Festival, which will conclude on the evening of April 21st, continues to bring together art lovers with different plays.
