Yeni Türkü left its mark on the 17th Zerdali Festival.
The 17th Apricot Festival continued with high participation and great enthusiasm on its second day. Organized by Çatalköy-Esentepe Municipality and sponsored by Telsim Vodafone, the festival became a meeting point for Cypriot culture, music, art, and traditional values for two days. Cypriot culture was brought to the festival grounds.
Throughout the event held at the Esentepe Festival Area, citizens both enjoyed cultural activities and had the opportunity to experience the unique taste of apricots. Folk dance performances, concerts, stage performances, and cultural events added color to the festival. Following the parade held on the first day of the festival, the Çatalköy-Esentepe Municipality Folk Dance Group took the stage. After the group, which was greatly appreciated by the audience, the Çatalköy Esentepe Municipality Ahenk Turkish Music Choir performed, while the “Wings of Time Design Cypriot Costume Fashion Show,” prepared by the Academy of Arts Association ANKA, attracted great interest. On the second day of the festival, the Çatalköy-Esentepe Municipality Nostalgia Folk Dance Ensemble received great applause from the audience, adding color to the night with their Dance Of Fire performance. Following this, Arif Edizer Group Argasdi took the stage, providing music-filled moments for the festival. Yeni Türkü, performing on the second day of the festival, left their mark on the night with their beloved songs. Citizens filling the festival area sang along to the songs in unison, and the group created unforgettable moments for the audience.
Fashion Show Receives Great Acclaim
Fashion and art were also prominent at the festival. 44 special outfits, entirely designed in Cyprus, were showcased in a special fashion show organized by Günkut Agency Brand Models (GAMM). 22 registered Miss Northern Cyprus and Mr. Northern Cyprus models took the stage in the fashion show, which received great acclaim. Gencay Eroğlu, who prepared the special design costumes within the scope of the “ANKA Wings of Time Design Cyprus Costume Fashion Show,” and Art Director Adem Öksüzoğlu also added an artistic touch to the night. Speaking at the end of the festival, Ceyhun Kırok stated that the 17th Apricot Festival was a very important organization in terms of unity, togetherness and keeping cultural values alive.
In his statement, Kırok said, “For two days in Esentepe, we experienced not just a festival; we experienced our culture, traditions, music and art together. The intense interest and enthusiasm of our people made us extremely happy. The Apricot Festival has now become one of the most important cultural values of our region.” Emphasizing that Cypriot culture was prioritized throughout the festival, Kırok said, “From our folk dances to our music, from our local values to art events, we took care to keep the Cypriot spirit alive in every detail. This festival is not only entertainment but also a responsibility to pass on our cultural heritage to future generations.” Kırok, who thanked all the institutions, organizations and teams that contributed, especially Telsim and Vodafone, said, “We thank all our citizens who participated. Our organizations that keep our culture alive and bring our people together will continue to increase.”
