Kyrenia, TRNC — Work on the Girne-Çatalköy Zoning Plan Revision, spearheaded by the Department of Urban Planning and with the participation of the Girne Municipality and the Çatalköy-Esentepe Municipality, has officially begun.

The technical team held its first meeting as part of the project. Following the meeting, the team conducted a field trip to conduct on-site inspections of the planning area.

Officials stated that the revision work will be carried out in line with the objectives of sustainable development of the region, strengthening infrastructure capacity, and improving quality of life.

Officials from the Department of Urban Planning emphasized that a participatory and transparent planning process will be followed, and that local stakeholders and the public will be included in the process in the subsequent stages.

Following the completion of the Girne-Çatalköy Zoning Plan Revision, the aim is to establish a contemporary urban development framework that will meet the current and future needs of the region.
