Esentepe beaches were enlivened with handball

The beach handball tournament, organized in collaboration between Çatalköy Esentepe Municipality and the TRNC Handball Federation, continues at Esentepe Public Beach. The tournament, which has a total of 208 athletes participating and featured 40 matches on its first day, was kicked off by Çatalköy Esentepe Mayor Ceyhun Kırok. While interacting personally with the players, Mayor Ceyhun Kırok emphasized in his statement that such tournaments will continue in the future. TRNC Handball Federation President Ediz Arıkan provided information about the tournament content and thanked the mayor for his contributions and support. The tournament continues today as well.

The Union of Turkish Cypriot Municipalities participated in the Committee Meeting on Social Participation and Human Dignity, organized under the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe in Strasbourg. The Union was represented by Ceyhun Kırok, Mayor of Çatalköy-Esentepe.

The Union of Turkish Cypriot Municipalities (KTBB) attended the Committee Meeting on Social Participation and Human Dignity, held under the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe in Strasbourg.

According to information provided by KTBB, Ceyhun Kırok, Mayor of Çatalköy-Esentepe, represented the Union at the meeting, accompanied by Hüseyin Köle, KTBB International Delegation Secretary and Kyrenia Municipal Manager.

The meeting addressed topics such as Aging Societies – Ensuring Access to Quality Social Services for the Elderly, the Role of Local and Regional Governments in Combating Human Trafficking, Accessible Housing for All, Revision of the European Charter on Youth Participation in Local and Regional Life, Artificial Intelligence in Europe’s Cities and Regions: Innovation with Respect for Human Rights, and Human Rights at Local and Regional Levels.

The 2024-2025 Work Program was also discussed at the meeting.
