The Beşparmaklar Theatre Festival, jointly organized by the Çatalköy-Esentepe Municipality and the Turkish Cypriot State Theatres, opened its curtains this evening with the play “Burun” staged by the Turkish Cypriot State Theatres. The opening of the festival, which attracted great interest from art lovers, was attended by Deputy Speaker of the Assembly Fazilet Özdenefe, MP Sami Özuslu, Armağan Candan, Fikri Toros and Jale Refik Rogers, Mesarya Mayor Ahmet Latif, Çatalköy-Esentepe Mayor Ceyhun Kırok and Turkish Cypriot State Theatres Director Nazım Ced, Director of Internal Affairs and Local Administrations Cenk Dökmen, Public – Labor Union President Ahmet Serdaroğlu, municipal council members, regional muhtars and our Communication Sponsor Telsim Vodafone Deputy General Manager responsible for Individual Sales Sinan Gezen. The first play of the festival, “Burun”, received full marks from the audience with both its subject and stage performances. At the beginning of the event, the declaration of Çatalköy-Esentepe Municipality and Turkish Cypriot State Theatres for March 27 World Theatre Day was read. The importance of support given to art and theatre was emphasized in the night, and it was stated that such events greatly contribute to the cultural development of society.
