The Union of Turkish Cypriot Municipalities (KTBB) participated in the Social Cohesion and Human Dignity Committee Meeting held under the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe in Strasbourg. The Union was represented by Ceyhun Kırok, the Mayor of Çatalköy-Esentepe.

According to the information provided by KTBB, Ceyhun Kırok, the Mayor of Çatalköy-Esentepe, represented the Union at the meeting, accompanied by Hüseyin Köle, the KTBB International Delegation Secretary and Kyrenia Municipal Manager.

The meeting addressed various topics including Aging Societies – Ensuring Access to Quality Social Services for the Elderly, The Role of Local and Regional Authorities in Combating Human Trafficking, Accessible Housing for All, Revision of the European Charter on Youth Participation in Local and Regional Life, Artificial Intelligence in Europe’s Cities and Regions: Innovation with Respect for Human Rights, and Human Rights at Local and Regional Levels.

The 2024-2025 Work Program was also discussed at the meeting.
