The Çatalköy-Esentepe Municipality, a first for the island, presented a special set of five booklets designed to raise environmental awareness to fourth and fifth graders in the region.

The booklets, covering topics such as “Environmental Pollution, Zero Waste, Renewable Energy, Ecosystem, and Global Warming,” were prepared with fun visuals and simple explanations that children can easily understand.
Mayor Kırok: “Our children are our most important heroes”
Çatalköy-Esentepe Mayor Ceyhun Kırok emphasized the importance of the project, saying:
“Unfortunately, our world is going through difficult times. If we don’t stop this trend, both our nature and we, as humans, will face great difficulties. We must take responsibility for ensuring our children have a cleaner, greener, and more livable future.
We have taken steps in this regard and continue to set an example with environmentally sensitive projects. But remember, the most important heroes in this endeavor are you, children. Each of you can be a nature hero.” Instilling Environmental Awareness in Children
The booklet set aims to introduce children to nature and foster environmental awareness at a young age. Through content supported by entertaining illustrations, students will learn about the negative effects of environmental pollution and discover simple yet effective steps they can take to protect nature.
